This gravel ampitheater at a school in Malmö is used as a play area and gathering place most of the time. However, when it rains the water from the neighboring roofs and hard surfaces flows through the stone lined gutter into the ampitheather, which is transformed into a small pool. The outlet drain, at the front of the photo, handles excess flow if the water level in the basin becomes too high. (photo by Denise Fong, Candela)
