ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

Green Hydrogen is Danish Hydrogen
Report describing how Denmark plans to accelerate the shift to green fuels, and decarbonize global transport and energy intensive industries.

How Power-to-X Works
An infographic and short video produced by the International PtX Hub describing how green hydrogen produced through electrolysis can be combined with nitrogen and/or renewable carbon to produce ammonia and a variety of synthetic hydrocarbons that can be used directly as fuels or as feedstocks for different industrial processes.

Decarbonizing the Gas Grid:  The Role of Renewable Fuels in Denmark's Path to Carbon Neutrality

2022 report providing background on the status of renewable fuels in Denmark, and their impact on gas supplies and infrastructure.

Energinet
Energinet is responsible for owning, operating and developing the overall energy infrastructure within Denmark, thus contributing to the development of a climate-neutral energy supply. As part of its role, Energinet is responsible for issuing the guarantees of origin that allow biomethane to be sold and injected into the national gas grid, as well as planning, establishing, and operating Denmark’s future hydrogen infrastructure

The Hydrogen Technology World Expo 2025
Information on  the industry's largest hydrogen conference, covering critical topics including policy and regulation, green hydrogen production and electrolyser innovation, carbon capture, fuel cell technology, low-carbon hydrogen, hydrogen derivatives, and sustainable fuels, as well as infrastructure and systems development.  You can download the conference schedule here.

From HEAVENN to Sustainable Hydrogen Valley
2022 report describing the role that a Hydrogen Valley -
where several hydrogen applications are combined and integrated within a region's ecosystem - can play in maturing the production of green hydrogen.  HEAVENN ( H2 Energy Applications in Valley Environments for Northern Netherland) was the first Hydrogen Valley to be developed in Europe.

Groningen Seaports - Scaling up the Production of Green Hydrogen
There are dozens of hydrogen projects under development in the northwest of the Netherlands, including many that are planned in the ports of Delfzijl and Eemshaven. The Groningen Seaport views hydrogen as an energy carrier with a wide range of applications and is fully committed to its development, offering space and facilities for test centers, start-ups, scale-ups, pilot and demo plants.

Gasunie - Our role in the energy transition
Gasunie is the primary gas distribution utility for northern Netherlands and Germany, but over the next few years it will transform from a gas transport company into an energy infrastructure company. In addition to natural gas, Gasunie will soon be transporting hydrogen, CO2, heat and green gas in rapidly increasing volumes, thereby enabling the region to transition to new carbon-neutral gases.

hynetwork and the Dutch Hydrogen Network
hynetwork, a subsidiary of Gasunie, has been tasked with building the high pressure hydrogen network in the Netherlands and subsequently assuming the role of hydrogen network operator.

HyWay 27 Study
The HyWay 27 study, published in June 2021, showed that the existing natural gas network could be used for the transport of hydrogen, and that this is a necessity in the energy transition. The same study also showed that existing pipelines could be repurposed at minimal cost compared to the cost of laying new pipelines. The complete report is available here

The Cambridge Handbook of Hydrogen and the Law
This is the first  comprehensive reference work on the regulatory environment for hydrogen. It is global in scope, featuring chapters that explain the legal situation in Europe, the USA, and other regions.  It includes chapters covering all relevant legal aspects of the hydrogen value chain from production to end use, including the creation of hydrogen markets, the role of local authorities, offshore hydrogen, the regulation of hydrogen transportation and storage, the regulation of hydrogen in the heating sector and the regulation of  hydrogen for electricity storage. â€‹
